“GDPR essentials ”
For organisations with limited access to, or no mandatory requirement for, a Data Protection Officer.
Course content:
This full day training session has been designed specifically to inform the Chief Privacy Officer (or team member with data protection responsibilities) of the key elements of the new data privacy law and to assist them in identifying potential risks, plan and allocate the required resources and provide guidance to the school on its path to GDPR compliance. The course includes:
- Understanding the new privacy law (GDPR) and its possible implications
- Understanding the responsibilities as a Data Controller
- Dealing with Data Processors (DP’s) contracted to the organisation
- Understanding data subject rights
- Understanding the legal basis for processing data
- Identifying sensitive personal data
- Understanding locations and storage methods
- Understanding a data asset register
- Understanding a privacy impact assessment
- Understanding a subject access request
Each delegate receives a copy of the data handling resource kit (GDPR) and a certificate for their own CPD records and the organisation record of compliance.
